Do not buy!Jan 16, 2008
By B. Percival I bought this item as a gift and when it arrived the battery was dead. Apparently the customer service at the company was unwilling to work with the friend I purchased this for, so now she has a $10 bath toy. Who makes a baby product with irreplaceable batteries?? I gave it one star because I had to in order to post the review, not because the product earned it.

Surprised that so many people had problems...Feb 25, 2008

We've been using this thermometer daily for over a year now, and with absolutely no trouble. My son uses it as a toy as well as it being very useful for keeping the water at the right temp. My only complaint is that I wish the temps weren't spaced 2 degrees apart (93, 95, 97...) Overall it is definitely worth every penny!

Dangerous! Cute, but not safe for baby's tub!Jan 24, 2008

This adorable little turtle (so cute my kids fought over it) does not keep an accurate temperature. In a tub full of ~100 degree water, he consistently read 72-74 degrees. Tried resetting, no luck. If I didn't already have a pretty good idea about the water temp, I could have really scalded my kids. Cute, but unsafe, unsafe, unsafe. Returning it immediately.

Utterly useless- buy only if you want a plastic turtleApr 02, 2009
By G. Postlethwaite Worked for a couple of weeks then, as per numerous other reviews, the battery ran out. Unless you read the small print on the package, you would not know it is "non user servicable". It's a disgrace that a company can make such a product. Don't buy.

Great bargain.Jul 21, 2007

After putting my little one in a too hot bath, I purchased this little guy and he was wonderful. It floats around and takes the temperature every few minutes, and after 10-15 minutes, it turns off automatically. Super practical, not big, so we take it with us when we travel. The only reason I am getting another one is because my dogs chewed off his tail and leg and now he sinks to the bottom and doesn't really work well. I really like this!
