Three adaptable probes are included for oral, rectal and underarm use; thereby hygienically allowing you to use one thermometer for all three purposes. This thermometer delivers fast and accurate readings, beeps when the reading is complete, and will glow red if the temperature registers at 99.9 degrees Fahrenheit or higher ¿ indicating a fever is present. The Fever Alert¿ feature makes it easier to get a quick visual reading, especially when taking a child's temperature at night. Thermometer also knows exactly which probe is in use and calibrates the readout accordingly; since typically rectal readings are a degree higher than oral, and underarm readings are a degree lower. | | | Product Details: | | | Product Length:

Some nice features but inconsistent temperature readings and one piece brokeJun 09, 2010 I bought this thermometer when I was pregnant with my third child. It came in handy, with all three pieces storing in a compartment on the back of the unit. Unfortunately, the shelf life of this product was only about two years.
Readings were quick, but were not very consistent, especially with the underarm attachment. I would take a temperature and receive a reading, then immediately retake the temperature (using the same attachment as before) and get a reading a degree or two different. That is a big difference. And the red light didn't always light up when the reading was high.
As for durability, I can't give it a high rating in that category. The unique design that allows three attachments to be used, in my opinion, also weakens the attachment connections. My youngest managed to snap the oral attachment apart, which broke that piece. The other two attachments can be used, but who is going to use a rectal thermometer on anyone older than a baby? And since the underarm thermometer has the most inconsistent temperature readings, I'm not inclined to use it either.
So we're searching for a new thermometer.
Very UnreliableFeb 16, 2010 My instance of this thermometer always reads low and varies between 1-2 degrees in consecutive readings. I just don't trust it at all.
The only thermometer you'll ever need!!!Dec 23, 2009 My husband and I just had our first child, and we had 3 other thermometers until I seen this in a magazine and had to have one...so I ordered it, got it in and we use this thermometer and this one only...it was the best money spent!!! We love it!! I always recommend this product to all excepting mothers, the display is bright and reads in just seconds, which is a good thing if your baby is wiggly, like my baby girl. All around great product;)
Great productSep 11, 2009 I think this is a great product. For some reason my first one wouldn't connect anymore but then I had had it for 3 years and with 2 boys 14 months apart it got used a lot.so I bought another one.I love this thermometer. My son has a heart condition so I have to take a [...] for him and the [...] conncetion is just small enough not to hurt him and big enough that it gives me an accurtate reading.I love the colour coding too.It really helps in the night time. Thanks for a great product. The shipping was fast too.
Fast, convenient tool with unpredictable resultsSep 09, 2009 All my life I've been using regular glass thermometers. Therefore, I developed that feeling of what it's gonna display when I feel like this or like that. This new digital one is an excellent piece, it comes back fast and I like that it flashes red when it feel the fever. I also like that I can switch from Celsius to Fahrenheit, because I am used to Celsius while doctors here just don't get anything but Fahrenheit.
What puzzles me is that sometimes what it shows is not what I feel like. What concerns me is that I can't really trust what I read when I use it on my infant.
Other than that - terrific product. I like the idea of changing the probes, a very convenient drawer for the probes.
A little bit too big to carry around (light, but bulky for a diaper bag full of stuff),unlike the glass one or other digitals), but it's the price of multiprobs, I guess.
Came in fast too.
