I couldn't record the product in actual use because I never got that far, it broke before I even got it out of the box. It didn't match our wood color either, I may go with the cherry version though. Hope this helps.

Originally, when I purchased this item it was $59.99. The item arrived in a timely manner thought the shipping box was damaged in the corner. The gate was in good shape, though.
Pros:
-Solid wood
-Fairly sturdy design
Cons:
-The foot spacer is a tripping hazard
-The wall support bars may damage wall board
-The wall supports need to be tightened often
Although I have more cons than pros listed, I would still purchase this item as a pet gate. I do not think it is sturdy enough to be a child proof gate on stairs.

Wow. This gate is beautiful - a nice change from many of the plastic baby gates - and very sturdy. Trey can pull himself up on it, headbutt it, etc., and it doesn't budge. I just wish it were a little taller, so I didn't have to lean over so much to release the gate.

Since I specifically needed a pressure mount gate with the bottom knobs higher than most, this works fine for that. However, the first one we received had a huge crack in the wood. The manufacturer was great getting us a new one though. Installation is more challenging than other pressure gates we've installed, and we're still having trouble getting it square (and to stay square) and tight. It looks great though. I wouldn't recommend it unless you really want the wood look or need clearance for the baseboards like we did.

If I could give this gate 0 stars, i would. It's completely nonfunctional. I was really excited about this gate when I ordered it. However, as nice as it looks, it is a bigger pain than it's worth. I'm very disappointed, especially considering this was an expensive gate. The pressure mounts don't work. The gate slides out of place each time the gate is opened and closed, which is what makes it nonfunctional.
