excellent toddler bed for priceMar 09, 2010 We bought this toddler bed for my now 4 1/2 year old son when he turned two and it has held up beautifully! I just took it apart today to store for my infant daughter when the time comes for her to switch out of a crib. The rails offered just the right amount of safety for us, while still allowing him to get in and out of the bed easily. This bed was very sturdy, and took a beating from an active toddler. My husband and I also sat on the end of it to read to him almost nightly with no issues. The underbed storage drawer was a major plus. It broke once (because my child stood in it) but was easily repaired. I did have to tighten the screws periodically, but I expected that.
Regarding a previous reviewer's comment on soft wood, there are some nicks and scratches on the drawer front, but not the rest of the bed. Considering the price and my son's use, this did not surprise or disappoint me.
I was VERY happy with this purchase.

Love this bed for my (almost) 3 year old....sturdier than store ones we saw...Sep 01, 2009 Shipping was fast on this bed. Easy to assemble...took my hubby about an hour. You will need a screwdriver..and hopefully someone to watch your toddler while assembling it as you know how they like to 'help.' (or at least mine does). Feels very solid, not like the ultra-cheapy feeling ones we saw at the major toy retailers. I can sit on the foot of it and read to my girl without feeling like it's going to collapse under me. Most of the beds we saw at the stores felt like they wouldn't hold up under those conditions. Has a nice finish, no odor to it when opened. The storage in the drawer underneath is a major plus. Love that feature!
My daughter was so thrilled when she realized what it was....her BIG GIRL bed. But, be aware that those first few nights of transitioning from a crib to a toddler bed can be a little rough....when the child realizes s/he has freedom. I recommend using the "My Tot Clock" (available on Amazon, too) to help with reminding your toddler to stay in bed. But my daughter has not fallen out or had any problems with the bed. In fact, her little friends come over and want to lay in her bed for fun...
Perfect for those who don't want to move up to the twin size bed yet...this takes up far less room in the bedroom and you can keep using the same crib mattress you had before. I think we will be using this for at least 2 more years. Excellent product!!!

Perfect for Small SpacesMar 22, 2008 This bed is really nice if you need to fit a crib and a bed in the same room. My toddler is just nuts about her "big girl bed". The headboard and footboard screw holes are hollowed-out, which isn't the most attractive thing, but we put wood pegs in the holes to cover them up. The drawer is nice for extra storage.
