Great Toy but needs an off switchDec 21, 2007
By C. Koether We bought this for my son's second birthday. He loves it. It was definitely worth the buy. Our only complaint is that there is no way to turn off the moving capability without getting under the hood and disconnecting the battery. Since the accelerator is located where his feet rest, the tractor will take off when he's trying to get on and off. There should be a simple switch on the outside of the tractor body for parents to turn the "go power" off in case of an emergency.

This John Dere Utility Tractor is adorable. My nearly 2 year old grandson's eyes lit up when he saw it. It took him a while to get the steering wheel, but after a few days riding it into whatever was in front of him he suddenly discovered that the wheel he was holding onto had something to do with the direction. He's exploring that concept now and It is fun to watch. He loves filling the front bucket with balls and rocks and anything he can find and then dumping it all out by my feet. The back end is useless and for appearance only. You can't scoop up anything with it, but it is very cute.

My grandson loves working in the yard with his tractor. I don,t have to worry avout pine cones any more. He loads them in front end loader then drops them into wagon. Great for sand play.

Great ToyJan 13, 2009

Our granson has spent hours and hours of having fun on this tractor. Wonderful toy. The charging of the battery could have been designed better. You have to unscrew the top every time you have to charge the battery and that is very frequently.
Otherwise this is a wonderful toy.

JD Utility Tractor ReviewSep 29, 2008

I purchased the JD Backhoe for our grandson's 2nd birthday. He loves it! His eyes were as big as saucers! We are trying to teach him to turn left and right, but he will get there. I just wish the tires were made of a different product. Too much spinning of the wheels while they are trying to get a grip on the rocks and grass.
