No Bugaboo for me!Apr 27, 2007

These newborn systems are pretty common in in England where I first saw them. Now there starting to slowly be available here in the US I just recieved my system and it just doesn't get any better! I'm a mother of four, so trust me when I say... I know strollers. This one is lightweight and easy to handle. I really believe this will be the only stroller I purchase my new baby.
Set up was fairly easy (although, I should tell you the carry cot set up was tough! I appreciate the necessity for the reinforcement bars, but those suckers are not easy to get in place.) The system includes a rain cover for the main stroller as well as, the carry cot. It also came with it's own air pump for the rear tires. Printed instructions are in full color and include photos.
Once the set up was complete I had a sturdy and snazzy pram. I live in an apartment in the city and here in NYC the Bugaboo is all the rage. I checked it out, and I wouldn't trade my micralite for it. It doesn't fold down to a compact size, and space can be limited here. I also did not want to have to buy a new stroller for each stage, which when you do the math would get you to the price you pay for just one of these. So if you're looking for something a little different and well worth the price this is it.

So far I have only used the carrycot version of the system, as my baby is still a newborn. We have used it both for a few walks and in the house as a second bed for her. When researching strollers, I was looking for something lightweight and easy to fold, (and thus ruled out the bugaboo and the stokke once I tried them) and had decided on the Inglesina Zippy but just by chance tried this one at the last minute. The big wheels give it that ease on the pavement, it pushes with one finger!, but the design is compact and super light, it folds and stands easily. The carrycot snaps on and off easily for transport. It looks so pretty (we got the red). The mattress of the Snuggle Nest with incline fits into the carrycot as well, which I use when I put her in it for the night, so she is slightly inclined. I actually bought it in a shop on sale for $400. Very worth the price.

We looked at atleast 20 - 30 different kind of strollers, was trying to avoid the traditional strollers you see every where, some that passed my first test "non traditional" were either heavy, bulky, needed a manual to fold & collapse, or just too common....there were a few that fit our requirement, of them this one just stood out, I had read about these online..then I saw them in a nearby mall...talked to the owner & she convinced me to get this...i took her advice & thank her for it....

Please note that I had bought this stroller through an online deals website and got the whole newborn system in RED for $400.00. Also, I have not used this yet because my baby is due in December 2011 but I wanted to share my opinion thus far to help those that are trying to decide whether to get this or not. First off, for the price that I paid, I think this stroller is extremely awesome because it looks good and feels very sturdy.
I love the fact that this system allows you to use it in a wide range of stages of the baby (6 months - 2 years). The fact that it also serves as a jogging stroller (need to purchase the all terrain kit (~$100) makes it that much better because just a BOB alone costs about $300-$400. When I first testing the stroller out (with some large stuffed animals), we noticed that the stroller had issues standing upright without tipping over once we nudged it and then we realized that the tires were deflated so we tried inflating it with the air pump that it came it. Honestly we had a tough time at first because we couldn't figure out how to use the pump but once we did, the wheel was good to go and the stroller was able to stand upright.
I love the bassinet feature because I don't have to add that in my registry and looking to use that as my portable bassinet for when I'm around the house. I also love how smooth the stroller converts. There are several youtube videos that shows you step by step how to use the stroller and I found that very helpful when deciding to purchase this.
Someone mentioned about the stroller not being able to evenly distribute weight and how you cannot hang a diaper bag over the handlebar in fear that the stroller might tip over but I think that happens with many other strollers. If you have a baby that can offset that weight then the stroller won't tip but if you have no baby in the seat and you have a heavy bag, of course your stroller will tip over...not sure if strollers were intended to be bag carriers...I mean I know it's a good and helpful feature but if that's your criteria for purchasing a stroller, then this one might not be the one for me.
As far as the infant car seat attachment, I noticed now that this stroller is also compatible with the Peg Perego seat now. However, after getting confused on which seat to get (Maxi-Cosi, Graco Snugride or Peg Perego) we finally decided the Graco because people say the Peg is too heavy and can get hot and although the Maxi cosi is an altogether nice car seat, they said people have experienced difficulty with getting the seat to lock into the car seat base and I didn't want to find out the hard way. So we opted for the Graco...hope I won't regret my decision.
So overall, this is a very versatile and useful stroller for the price (that I paid) and might I add really cute and gorgeous looking. And I am looking forward to using this when baby arrives in Dec.
