My husband and I ordered this dresser in Espresso. It is a decent quality dresser. One part came broken in the box during shipment and the manufacturer sent us a new part for free. Otherwise we are very pleased with the dresser. It is not of the highest quality in terms of the hardness of the wood, but if you want something more high quality, you should expect to visit a furniture store.
Nice dresser and easy to put togetherApr 26, 2010
The dresser was fairly easy to put together by myself, it only took a couple of hours. My only complaint would be poor engineering on for the bottom drawer as you need to unscrew the rails in order to attach the frame to the base. Also, one piece was cracked when I took it out of the box but since that piece will never be seen I decided to go ahead without getting it replaced.
The finished product is very nice, the drawers are deep and it will hold a lot of clothes. The wood is good quality with no scratches. We have the matching crib and the two look great together.

I ordered this dresser from Amazon and it arrived damaged. Huge chunks were taken out of the top of the dresser. It appears that wherever Amazon had this item shipped from did not properly store or transport it. Accidents happen, so I returned the item and exchanged it for a new one, again with Amazon. This time the dresser was WORSE. The top piece was completely SPLIT IN HALF! Again, I returned the item. I ordered the dresser from Babies R Us and it came beautifully packaged and did not have any damage. I was very disappointed in Amazon. To have this happen twice is unacceptable. I will not order from Amazon again because it is clear they deal with vendors that are not up to par.

When the shipment arrived, the box was damaged slightly. As I unpacked to take all the pieces out, it first appeared that nothing was damaged.
However, as I was putting the frame together today, I realized that the top piece had one place dented (about an inch long, where it appeared something came down on it). I happened to be the front edge, where it's readily noticeable.
I had all the parts unpacked (to compare against the assembly instruction) by then, and the frame mostly completed, so I decided against unscrewing everything to return the dresser.
Since I cannot spend anymore time today to get the drawers put together, I cannot comment on the drawers, but the frame itself, when put together, is not too soft, unlike what others are saying. I think the assembly just needs to be planned to make sure all the pieced line up flush before the screws are put in. Of course, I've put together furnitures that were easier to assemble and might have been sturdier, I expect this dresser to last long enough for my kid.

As beautiful and perfectly coordinated this dresser is to the Kalani crib, I can't say I'm entirely satisfied. Assembly wasn't super difficult only because my carpenter friend helped me. Even then, we made a couple mistakes because the instructions are ridiculously unclear and difficult to read. Be sure to assemble over a carpeted surface as it scratches incredibly easy and don't even think of trying without an electric drill. The 2 piece back panel was missing from my package, and because of that my dresser seems a bit unstable. If I had purchased this myself, I would be more upset, as I don't see it worth the price. Having it now, I would have directed the cost toward a better quality dresser.
